Recently, we here at Novex were presented with something of a challenge by one of our longstanding and respected customers, to aid them in increasing their product range to the baking and food service markets.
Ordinarily this would present little issue, but given the serious frost damage that blighted crops earlier in the year, large-scale supply has been somewhat difficult to come by for many in the industry. This is where our wide-ranging expertise came into play.
As a result of the aforementioned frost damage we have been required to extend our search for additional suppliers, visiting various southern European countries in an effort to safeguard the availability, quality and price of the required products. This is not a task we take lightly, and much time was devoted to ensuring the best deal across all of these ever-important factors.
The required products in this case were a variety of canned fruits, more specifically peaches and pears. As previously stated we visited a multitude of suppliers across a wide range of locations as we sought after the ideal supplier. This led to a sit-down meeting with one company who were unfortunately not interested in supplying a few container loads because of their existing commitment to the USA market; they were however able to recommend a suitable alternative. As a result of this highly productive meeting, we were ultimately able to find the optimum supplier for our client.
